Last Wednesday was my final day as a teacher. Today I was interviewed by my own coach, Emma Dempsey, about what I had learned from 23 years working in education. It was a lot. But one thing stood out – teenagers are brilliant! Moody, difficult, perpetually tired and hungry to be sure but also creative, resourceful, wise, brave and hilarious. Thanks to Hugh Halford and David Lammy for this wonderful example of what we can learn from young people. I’m so happy to be coaching them from January.
